Transcription Services at Low, Flat Rate Prices
transcription services

Where are the Prices?

To see our prices you must select one of the Transcription Services to the left.

For example: If you have a "One-on-One" interview, select "One-on-One" under Transcription Services to the left to see the prices.

Minimum Charges

There is a minimum charge of $15.00 for any transcript created. Each tape or file submitted is considered a separate transcript for billing purposes. See below for important information regarding audio cassettes.

Payment for First Time Customers

Payment is not required until we finish the work. We will send an invoice in advance of completion. If you are a first time customer, we will require payment before delivering completed transcripts. We accept all major credit cards and payment can be made on-line or by calling in the credit card number.

How We Price Transcription Services.

Our prices are based on the actual amount of audio recorded on each tape or file you submit for transcription. See important information regarding audio cassettes below.

Example: If you submit a 60-minute video tape with only 26 minutes of contiguous audio, you will only be billed for the 26 minutes.

Example: If you submit four (4) 15-minute tapes, they will each bill at the 15 minute rate, not the cumulative 60-minute rate.

If you have a lot of audio, enter the average length of each tape or file to get an estimate.

Q: I have 600 minutes of audio, how much will it be?

A: It is highly unlikely that you have 600 minutes of audio on one cassette, video tape, file, etc. In this case it's possible that you might have ten 60-minute video tapes. Thus after determining what type of Transcription it is, use the rate given for 60-minutes of audio.

Select a transcription type on the menu to the left to learn about pricing for each type of transcription. Example: If you have a phone conversation that needs transcribing, select "Phone Calls".

Multiple Types per Tape

In the event that you have a mix of audio Types on a tape or file, the whole tape or file will bill at the higher of the rates. This is usually cheaper than splitting the file into smaller piece which would then bill at higher relative per-minute charges.

Example: If you submit a 60-minute video tape with 20 minutes of Type-1 and 40 minutes of Type-2, the entire tape will bill as Type-2. As a 60 minute Type-2, the price would be $120. As two separate files, the price would be $122.50 + $5 edit fee discussed below.

If you would like us to extract the material off of the tapes into separate transcripts and bill them individually, there is a $5 per edit fee.

Example: You submit a 60-minute video tape with 20 minutes of Type-1 followed by 20 minutes of Type 2, followed by another 20 minutes of Type-1. We can edit these into three (3) distinct transcripts. Each section would bill at its own length and two (2) edits would be charged.

Audio Cassette Pricing

For audio cassettes, each side of the cassette is considered a separate tape for transcription purposes.

Example: A tape with 30-minutes of audio on Side-A and 30-minutes of audio on Side-B will be billed as two separate transcripts NOT as one 60-minute transcript. You will receive one transcript for Side-A and a separate transcript for Side B.

Long Tape Fee

This only applies to any particular Tape or File submitted for transcription. It does not apply to the cumulative length of all your tapes.

Any single tape or file submitted that is longer than 2 hours will be billed $15.00 for each 1/2 hour beyond the initial 2 hours. To avoid this surcharge, record your audio or split it into smaller pieces. For example, send three 60-minute pieces of audio instead of one 180-minute piece of audio.

Bad Tape Fee

If a tape or file is submitted which is not transcribable, it will be assessed a Bad Audio fee of $10.00.

Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of intelligent effort.
