We transcribe dictation from a wide variety of formats including MicroCassette, DSS, AVI, and WMA. If there are multiple speakers such as a round-table or panel discussion, please see either Seminars or Panel Discussions instead. Type 2 pricing applies to all Dictation where any of the following occur: - Not professionally recorded.
- Using the DSS format. (audio is highly compressed)
- Any other high compression format (DVF, etc.)
- Recorded on Microcassette.
- Excessive room or office noise.
- Heavy Accent.
- Speakers using English as a second language.
- Poor sound quality (tape or environment).
- Material is of a highly technical nature.
| Type 1 pricing applies only if the dictation is recorded in using our recommended device list and the sound quality is good and clean. It has been our experience that only the two devices listed below create 'Type-1 ' audio quality, most other digital dictation devices available for purchase use higher compression (and thus poorer sound quality). We have found that most Dictation transcription is billed as Type-2 as they do not meet the strict sound quality requirements for Type-1. |
Samples Currently Unavailable. - There are many digital dictation recording devices. Most come with software that can convert their proprietary audio to the WAV format. In the event that we can not directly support the file format, we can transcribe from your WAV.
- For Audio Cassettes, each side of the cassette is billed as a separate transcript. Thus, if you have a 60 minute phone call and 45 minutes of it are on Side A and 15 minutes are on Side B, you will be billed for two transcripts, one 45 minutes, the other 15 minutes.
