Audio CD transcription and MiniDisc transcription service

If you are creating an Audio CD or MiniDisc for us to transcribe from, please try to place all of the audio in one "Track".

If you have multiple Tracks on the CD or MiniDisc, be sure to clearly mark which ones you want transcribed on the submission form.

Clearly label each disc submitted for transcription.

CD-ROMs: CDs with WAV, MP3, or other digital formats.

Please see our guidelines for creating digital files for transcription.

If there are multiple files on the CD-Rom, we will create a separate transcript from each file unless told otherwise. Each transcript is billed separately based on the length of that particular file.

Example: A CD-ROM is submitted with 3 MP3s. They are labeled "Bob.mp3", "Jane.mp3", and "Sue.mp3" and are 20, 38 and 58 minutes each respectively. You will be billed for 3 transcripts. The "Bob" transcript will be billed for 20 minutes of audio, the "Jane" transcript will be billed for 38 minutes of audio and the "Sue" transcript will be billed for 58 minutes of audio.

Label each file on the CD-ROM clearly.

Long Digital Files

This only applies to any single digital file submitted for transcription. It does not apply to the cumulative length of all your digital files.

For CDs and Mini-Disc it is better to record less than 80 minutes per disc. We can turn around more material quicker if it is split across multiple discs.

Any single tape or file submitted that is longer than 2 hours will be billed $15.00 for each 1/2 hour beyond the initial 2 hours. To avoid this surcharge, record your audio or split it into smaller pieces. For example, send three 60-minute pieces of audio instead of one 180-minute piece of audio.

Oh, I don't blame Congress. If I had $600 billion at my disposal, I'd be irresponsible, too.
